Softening all of the Sharpest Things

This mixed media piece is made from shark's teeth, bullet casings and thorns. It is delicately arranged with a glitter background to create a paradox and also to bring in this notion of how we can poetically soften our world. It was inspired by the Derek Wolcott quote: "For every poet it is always morning in the world; history a forgotten, insomniac night. The fate of poetry is to fall in love with the world in spite of history."
