A Stride Arts Series

Join us once a month for a night of Music Conversations featuring intimate talks and performances with various renowned musicians curated by violinist and host Peiwen Liao. 

You will no longer simply be a member of the audience, but will  be interacting in a multitude of ways with artists at each of the Music Conversations. At Stride Arts, there will be no division between the musicians and the audience, everyone is an artist and will contribute equally. Speaking the Language of Music
Conversation with composer William Goldstein and host/ violinist Peiwen Liao 

Renowned Hollywood composer William Goldstein will chat with the host and violinist Peiwen Liao at the Stride Arts Gallery on November 30, 7 pm as part of the Music Conversations, A Stride Art Series. We will explore the topic of instant composition and invite the audience to participate with Mr. Goldstein on stage together. Series director and violinist Peiwen Liao will conduct an informal on-stage conversation with Mr. Goldstein, followed by a musical performance between the two musicians, and end the event with a Q&A session with the audience.

William Goldstein has been a recording artist for Motown and CBS Masterworks. His own label, distributed worldwide by The Orchard has over 60 albums currently available generating over 3,000,000 streams monthly. He has scored over 50 Movie and Television projects, including Fame & The Miracle Worker. He has written on the arts for The New York Times and The Los Angeles Times. He has been a pioneer in the use of computers and electronic instruments in music. His most distinguishing characteristic as a composer / pianist is his gift of "Instant Composition", which he shares with audiences through Master Classes, recitals and Albums.

Peiwen Liao

Violinist

Peiwen Liao, who will interview Mr. Goldstein and moderate the audience Q&A, is an honoree in the 2018 Mandarin Leader Magazine. A Si-Yo Artist™, Ms. Liao has performed as a soloist with more than twenty orchestras in twelve countries across three continents. By thirteen, Ms. Liao had already sold-out a recital at Carnegie Weill Hall. She has been invited to perform in China for seven consecutive years and has performed in at least 30 cities across China. More recent engagements have included a private solo performance for the President of Honduras and solo performances at the United Nations, Capitol Hill, the Oculus, and Bryant Park. Ms. Liao has performed as a soloist in countries including Russia, Israel, Canada, Italy, Austria, China, Korea, Japan, Serbia, Thailand, Myanmar, and the United States. Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Ms. Liao is currently a Doctoral Candidate at the Manhattan School of Music and is a graduate of the Yale University and The Juilliard School.
