Mixed media sculpture on a paint brush.

  • Art Description

    “Nature's first green is gold,
    Her hardest hue to hold.
    Her early leaf's a flower;
    But only so an hour.
    Then leaf subsides to leaf.
    So Eden sank to grief,
    So dawn goes down to day.
    Nothing gold can stay.”

    --Robert Frost

    A fan of the ephemeral, and all that nature teaches us about the sacred quality of life, the artist here has captured the kind of beauty that is meant to last only for a few brief days. The mixed media creating the work on a paintbrush reflects the capacity of Mother Nature to paint using the most vivid colors, only to change them as life progresses from one stage to the next.
